Corn, not just for tacos and hogs anymore

Folks, field corn has come of age. Used to be that we simply shoveled the ear corn over the hog lot fence. The hogs ate it up, leaving the cobs behind.

No more. Corn is a complex feedstock from which a plethora of chemicals are derived. The list is expanding rapidly with world wide R and D, and we now make many kinds of food, animal feeds, pharmaceuticals, nutriceuticals, vitamins, cosmetics, plastics, household chemicals, industrial chemicals and many fuels from it. The fuels we can now make are; bio crude oil, bio gasoline, several formulations of bio diesel, military jet fuel, military land transportation fuel, Bio propane, bio kerosene, civilian formulations of jet fuel, bio butanol and plastics.

Here is the published product list of Iowa BioProcessing Center, Eddyville Iowa.
